For the next two CARE activities, we will create holiday cards for the residents of local personal care homes. Key Club members will hand deliver the cards. Some of the places that we are delivering to are Evergreen Nursing Home, Passavant Retirement center, and several others. Please have fun making the cards and know that your cards will bring joy to many people. Thank you.

Holiday Cards for Residents of Local Personal Care Homes (a silly “how to”)

STEP 1: Fold the card in half Hold the card in your hand and then…. Fold it neatly. Like this

STEP 2: Add a greeting to the front of your card See the next slide for some greeting suggestions.

Tis the Season Wishing you joy Seasons Greetings Happy Holidays Peace and Joy Let it Snow Peace on Earth Warm Wishes (these are suggestions, you are welcome to use your own idea)

STEP 3: Write a short holiday message inside the card and sign your name (first name is good). A list of suggestions has been provided to your CARE Rep and teacher. You can refer to that if you can’t think of anything to write.

STEP 4: Make it look nice! Use crayons, markers, or colored pencils to add color and your own unique touch! You will be provided with some stickers but we have a limited amount – feel free to bring in your own materials to decorate your card.

STEP 5: Hand it in You have two CARE periods to make your card (today and next week). If you need to work on it more during other days, please feel free to do that. Once your card is finished, please give it to your teacher or CARE Rep. Teachers/CARE Reps, please return the envelope of completed cards to me in 214 by Thursday, Dec. 12 th.

REMEMBER Be kind always. If you prefer to not do this, then respectfully decline in kindness. For those that choose to make cards, we will be sure to take lots of photos and some video of the recipient reactions so you can see how HAPPY your kindness made others.
