Founding Fathers Four of the founding father are Ben Franklin, George Washington, John Adams, and John Jay. Slavery Slavery came to America so the people who owned plantations could have people to work on the farms and they didn’t have to pay them. The South became most dependent on slavery because the south had the most plantations and they needed workers.
