3 The Founding Fathers Ben Franklin: Was a major figure in physics. John Adams: Was the second president of the U.S.A James Madison: Was the fourth president of the U.S.A George Washington: Helped create a new government.

4 Colonial Tools Hammer, saw, and plane

5 Shelter Large/very small wood/brick houses.

6 Food Shepherds pie, Dumplings, and Gazpacho

7 Costume Men: waistcoat, coat, breeches, stockings and cloak. Women: petticoat, lace apron, shift and stockings.

8 Crafts and Games Rolling Hoops, 9 pins and Puzzles.

9 Slavery Slaves were held in every town. Slavery was a terrible thing. The Southern Colonies became most dependent on slavery.

10 Jobs One of the most important jobs was the Blacksmith. Every one depended on the Blacksmith. Blacksmiths were the masters of forge. There also was silversmiths and gunsmiths.

11 Education For education, children did educational puzzles, read 18th century books and used a slate board to write letters.

12 Literature and Music There were Military marches, Fiddle tunes and songs from the musical stage.
