Sign up for an Easybib account Go to Easybib.com

Click on “Sign up”

Citing a Website Cite It First copy the web address then paste it in here. Second click on Cite It

Fill in the author’s name if it is listed. Fill in the publisher or sponsor’s name. This should be at the top or bottom of the webpage. The date the website was uploaded or updated. Click here to add the info

Look for the author at the bottom or the top of the webpage, on “contact” links at or “about us”. If an author isn’t listed then leave it blank. Sponsors of a website are usually listed at the top or sides of the webpage. Often, this is just the name of the website – what you’re looking for is who created or paid for the site. Leave it blank if you can’t find it. Usually found at the bottom of the page, next to the words “last updated.” Click on Create Citation when you have filled in all the info

Check the citation for spelling and capitalization errors. If you have to make changes check off the box. Click to edit to delete the citation. Now you are ready to cite your next website. Repeat slides 7 to 11

To cite a book click on the Book tab.

Citing a Book Find the title, ISBN, author, publisher, city where the book was published, publication year . On the title page you should find the Book Title Author You may find the publisher, and the city where the book was published. If there are several cities listed, choose the closest Canadian city.

Title Page Verso This is the page right after the Title Page. You will find the Publisher, Publication year, the ISBN, and the City where the book was published. Look for the copyright symbol to find the year that the year the book was published Publisher City where the book was published. Choose the city closest to you. ISBN ( International Standard Book number) Sometimes there are 2 ISBN numbers. One for HC (hardcover), and one for PB (paperback). Choose the one for your book.

Citing a book if you have the ISBN number: First make sure the “Book” Tab has been selected. Second, type in the ISBN number. Third, click on Cite this.

Create Citation You must choose the pull-down arrow from Citing “The whole book" to “Chapter or Section” See the next slide Fill in info that wasn’t given If this title doesn’t match your source, then you will have to click on “Cite it manually” and type in the information yourself.

Change the Citing info from The whole book to Chapter or section This will bring up a section to show the pages that you used for research.

If you don’t know the book ISBN number click on Manual entry.

To cite an encyclopedia, click on All 59 options

Click on Encyclopedia Article

Type in the name of the encyclopedia. Click on Autocite

Click on the right encyclopedia from the choices.

Type in: Article Title Author Change from No to Yes 3. All the pages that you took information from. 4. Click on Create Citation to save.

Click on Bibliography to open up your document.
