Creating a Works Cited “Page” Open your Research Guide At the bottom of the page, type Works Cited In additional tabs, open (1) your first source and (2) easybib.com – CHECK TO SEE IF YOUR SOURCE GIVES YOU A CITATION, COPY IF IT DOES, GO TO EASYBIB IF IT DOESN’T In easybib, copy and paste the first link from your first source into the search and click orange “cite it” button. This may give you a full citation to copy and paste into your google doc. Otherwise, click “Continue” and fill in information. How to find Relevant Information – Article Title- on tab at top of webpage – Author- usually at bottom, leave blank if you find nothing – Website Title- At the top of the page ON THE HOMEPAGE – Publisher/Sponsor- delete back to.org (etc.) in url, then search page, look for contact information, or “about us”. Sometimes found at the bottom of the webpage next to copyright. – Electronically Published- look at bottom, often near copyright, put today’s date if you find nothing Once information is entered, hit “Create Citaton” Copy and paste into google doc SWBAT create MLA citations.

In-Text Citations In-Text Citations- an abbreviated version of your Works Cited citation that corresponds to the Works Cited citation at the end of your paper – Used in your paper to show readers where your information is coming from. – Typed after the information used from your source (This will often be at the end of your paragraph if you’re using only ONE source per paragraph) SWBAT create MLA citations.
