We are a small school of approximately 420 students. STUDENT TRANSCRIPT

Attendance Regular attendance is required in order to be successful in school. School begins at 8:40 and ends at 3:32 p.m. School ends on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. so that teachers can plan instruction. If absent, you must provide documentation upon your return and make up missing work. Strong attendance is rewarded with certificates, excellent grades, Broadway Show, movie tickets, and pizza parties!

Electronic Devices/ Hats You may not bring your cell phone to school. Phones that are detected by the scanners will be confiscated and returned to a parent/guardian. This policy is in accordance with the Chancellor’s Regulation Infraction Code B06 which states: Bringing prohibited equipment or material to school without authorization (e.g. cell phone or other electronic communication/entertainment devices). In addition, all headgear being worn in school will be confiscated in accordance with Chancellor’s Regulation Infraction Code B09 which states: Wearing clothing, headgear (e.g. caps or hats) or other items that are unsafe or disruptive to the educational process. Dress Code Students are expected to dress in a manner that respects themselves and others. You may not wear any gang beads, colors or any other related gang paraphernalia at any time. In addition, sexually explicit, drug/violence related graphics on t-shirts are not tolerated. Shirts and skirts/dresses are expected to be appropriate in length and coverage, under garments may not be worn as outer clothing. Students in violation of the dress code will be asked to change into appropriate clothing and a parent/guardian will be notified immediately. Restorative Justice You are expected to behave in a manner that is professional and helpful to our school community. Unprofessional behavior such as fighting, cursing, bullying, stealing screaming/shouting, gang related activities, will not be tolerated at the GLC. Administration will follow up with a student conference and student consequences which may include detention(s), suspension and/or referral to Youth Court. Parents will be notified. Metrocards Metrocards are distributed to students based on home distance from school. Metrocards must be kept in a wallet to avoid damage and the wallet must be kept secure at all times. Students are responsible for keeping their metrocards for the entire semester. Please see Mr. Crespo for a replacement metrocard at the end of the school day if yours is damaged. Code of Conduct

Guidance and Student Services

Summer Assignment All incoming freshmen are required to complete an English assignment over the summer. This assignment is your first opportunity to earn 100 points towards your English class. Choose one assignment from the list provided to you. Assignment must be submitted to your English teacher on September 9 th, 2013.
