 Rat snakes look greenish yellow or orange.  They have four dark stripes running down their body.  Rat snakes have scales.

 They are in every southeastern state.  They hide in tall grass.  They have nests to lay their eggs in.

 Rat snakes eat rats, birds, and squirrels.  Rat snakes eat bird eggs.  Rat snakes eat small frogs lizards and small rodents.
