4. Fox The fox is mostly found in the grassy parts of a prairie. The fox’s favorite food is a rabbit. Vultures and owls put it at risk. The fox is orange and white. It has big ears.

5. Owl Owl It has a oval shaped body, big yellow eyes, and a big beak. Nothing puts it at risk. Nothing dares to mess with it.

6. Mice Mice have long tails. They have whiskers. They have very small ears, and black has eyes.

7. Prairie Grass It acts as a producer in the food chain. It gets eaten by herbivores. It provides energy for herbivores such as giraffe, elephants, rabbits and deer.

8. Turkey It eats plants and seeds. The turkey is a herbivore. It gets eaten by carnivores.

9. Grasshopper Grasshopper It is brown, with some darker markings. This herbivore eats plants. Birds, lizards and spiders eat the grasshopper. You can find the grasshopper in the summer and in spring.

10. Hawk The Hawk eats squirrels, rabbits, and birds such as California Quails and Chukars. During the breeding season, Prairie Hawks inhabit dry, open areas with cliffs and bluffs for nesting. To catch prey the hawk flies low over the ground.
