TUES. DAY 2 OBJECTIVE & PREBELL QUESTION  OBJECTIVE: The student will analyze the appropriate netiquettes.  Pre Bell Question: Choose One: 1)Explain the difference between inbox and outbox using your terms. TUES., OCT. 21st DAILY AGENDA  Pre Bell Question: Choose One: See Teacher Web site or Canvas  1. The teacher will introduce lesson by stating the objective and purpose of lesson. During the introduction, facts will be shared and engage students with probing questions to peak their interest. (Remind class of prior lesson on ethical/unethical behaviors and real-life situations.  2. The teacher will discuss Netiquette/E-Safety with students –See Power Point and Video Clip—Whole Group Activity—Use Questioning and Discussion  3. Small Cooperative Group Activity-See Scenarios—See Attachment— Lang. Arts Integration  3. The students will search for more Netiquette and place in their notebook. See website –More Remedial Activitieswww.learnthenet.com  4. Continue Keyboarding Application in Ace Keyboarding- Ongoing/Remedial and Challenging Activity –See Attachment  5. Step 4 Closure – 5-10 minutes  The student will complete Closure Assignment (question) and then discuss responses with their shoulder partner. Write their answer on the color coded index cards and place in the exit ticket container.  Teacher will remind students about 2014 Cyber Safety Poster Contest see www. and Weekly Post-Test Assessment on Friday.  If students do not complete their Choice Scenario Activity, extra time will be given on Day 3  Homework: Continue creating sentences with terms.

Small Group Work-Analyzing Safety & Online Safety Issues  Students will have only 10 minutes to assign team roles, read the scenario, discuss, and record responses to the questions on the reporting form. They must work together to quickly and critically work through all of the questions.  Scenarios are found on Canvas or my Web Page- Scenarios Handouts will also be provided in class.

It 'best to ignore or delete  Phishing: Certain s pretend to be from a bank or trusted source in order to steal your personal information.  Attachments: Some attachments can contain viruses and other malware. IN SUMMARY-TIPS FOR ETIQUETTE  Keep it professional  Never convey anger, use profanity, or make racist or sexist remarks. Remember, inappropriate words or images sent via can come back to haunt you..  Don’t discuss confidential information  Most is insecure unless it has been encoded or encrypted. So sending an is like sending a postcard for many eyes to see. Don’t send confidential information.  Think before you send  Don’t treat casually. Play it safe. In general, don't write anything in that you wouldn't feel comfortable saying in a crowded elevator.  Keep in mind that is not the best way to communicate but is a way of sending information. People may interpret communications in in the wrong way.

Now that you are more aware of the Internet education, what would you recommend teachers and administrators do to better prepare students to be safe and responsible while online? - Be sure to thoroughly explain your answer.
