Presentation transcript:

 There will be very little homework in science this year.  Grades are based on assignments, quizzes, tests, and labs.

 Late work (1 st -5 th Marking Periods, no late work accepted 6 th Marking Period) 1 day late---10% off of your grade 2 days late---20% off of your grade After 2 days---your grade is a 50%  Copying another students work---0% on the assignment  Students only fail my class IF they don’t do their work!

YYou are to be in YOUR seat—not a friends seat, not sharpening your pencil, not walking around the room, not at my desk. You will be marked tardy if you are not in your seat. CComplete your planner! AAttendance will be taken at this time. IIt needs to be quiet.

 Use your 5 minute passing time to use the bathroom. During these 5 minutes, you do not need to ask to use the bathroom.  If you have an emergency during class, you get 5 passes a marking period (about 18 weeks). You must have your planner with you to get a pass from me. You may NOT ask during the first and last 10 minutes of class! If you don’t have your planner and it is an emergency, you will stay after class for 2 minutes and I will not give you a pass to your next class.

 You are responsible for getting the work on days that you are absent. See me to get your work.  You have as many days as you were absent plus one to get the work turned in. Example: You were absent two days. You have three days to turn in your work.

YYour work gets turned into the tray on the overhead cart. MMost of the time, your work will be turned in the day you finish your work. If you take it home, turn it into the tray the next day. HHomework is due before class starts, not during or after class. You may not go to your locker to get your homework.

 You won’t get any from me!  Bring your materials to class! After the first couple of weeks of school, I will not let you get things from your locker during my class.

 You will be assigned seats.  Seats will change throughout the year.  Don’t ask to sit next to a friend, it won’t happen.  If you need to seat near the front, let me know.  You are to remain in your seat during class, no wandering!

 If you are caught writing on a desk, you will spend some of your lunch time cleaning the desk tops.

BBe respectful of all LListen while others are talking KKeep your hands and feet to yourself FFace the front of the room KKeep the chair on all four feet TTalk quietly when allowed SSchool rules will be enforced---read the handbook WWork on science work only, if science work is finished, you may work on other assignments
