Classroom Management  Behavior Plan  Clips are moved when rules and procedures are not followed.  Color coded system  Behavior Chart  Sent home daily.  Must be signed and returned every day.  Color Code  Green = Great day!  Yellow = Redirect / Warning  Orange = REFOCUS time in classroom  Blue = REFOCUS time in another teacher’s room  Red = Phone call home

100 Book Challenge  Contract must be assigned prior to the 1 st book going home.  Teacher completes first step in class.  Parent completes second step at home.  Child can earn only two steps daily.  Prizes are earned each time a child earns twenty steps.  Medals are given when 100 books are read!

Writing  1 st nine weeks- legible letters with sense of sounds present.  2 nd nine weeks- begins to convey meaning by matching letter sounds to words and picture makes sense. Can be as simple as a one word label.  3 rd nine weeks- spacing, upper/lowercase letters, simple sentences to express ideas.  4 th nine weeks- some sight words, words are predominantly spelled the way they sound, spacing is present along with punctuation, expands sentences.

Math  Numbers and Operations- Identify and write numbers to 20 with one to one correspondence, joins and separates numbers to 20, counts to 20.  Algebraic Thinking- Patterning, Sorting, problem solving, & Graphing.  Geometry- recognizes, sorts, and describes shapes 2D & 3D.  Measurement- concepts of time, longer & shorter than.

Homework  Homework packet sent home Mondays and due on Fridays.  Students should be reading to their home coach nightly.

Title I Compact  Please sign and date.  Return ASAP.  Review expectations with your child.

Volunteering  We love our volunteers!  In the classroom  Outside of the classroom  Register in the front office with picture ID.  Must be approved  Takes up to 8 weeks
