Week of Aug , 2014 World History Period 1, 4, 5

In class assignment: Answer this question – If you could design a better classroom for Mrs. Isakson,(40 students) what would it look like? Exit Ticket – What is a “Golden Rule” every classroom should have?

Cell Phone Policy Red – No cell phone use. If caught using cell phone, Mrs. Isakson will ask you to put phone in “Cell Cell” until the end of the period. Continued abuse of this policy may result in your cell being taken to the deans office where your parents will have to pick up phone. Green – Cell phone use is permissible only for the school activity in progress. Again cell phone may be confiscated if this policy is abused as well.

Mrs. Isakson’s School Speech Respect Responsibility Resourcefulness I am a teacher first and a disciplinarian last. I would prefer to teach than to discipline. Teaching is proactive, meaning I give you information, or ideas from that you LEARN Discipline is reactive, from your misbehavior or defiance I must give consequences and punishment I prefer to do the job I am paid to do TEACH I know sometimes I must do the job that is necessary to keep you and everyone aware of how people should behave not only in this classroom, but society at large.

Respect Responsibility Resourcefulness I understand the purpose of adolescence is to test and take risks and be challenged. Please don’t test or challenge me but take some risks against those issues you think are wrong. I hope for the next two years you learn the skills to be a productive adult, meaning producing things or ideas that will benefit this world I am your teacher, I hope to be your friend. My wish is to see ALL of you graduate in What happens between now and the next two years is not all my control. Some of you will have to work much harder than others, some are very lucky to have someone supporting and believing in you. Whichever the case, the beginning of your success starts with YOU.
