Arrival/Dismissal Arrival The cafeteria is open for breakfast at 8:45. Children not eating breakfast should not arrive prior to 9:00. The tardy bell rings at 9:20. Please make sure your child arrives on time. Dismissal Your child must be dismissed from the office. If you need to check your child out early, please go to the office and the secretary will notify me in the classroom. If your child’s transportation changes, please send a note or call the office.

Thursday Folders A Thursday folder will be sent home with each child every Thursday. This folder will be used for sending home notes, lunch charges, behavior calendars, and completed work. Please sign and return the behavior calendar and the empty folder the next school day. These papers will keep you apprised of your child’s progress.

Recess/Medications Due to early recess time and changes in the weather, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately. Write your child’s name on coats and gloves. School policy states that children will be outside if the temperature is between 32 and 94 degrees. A Parent Medication Form must be filled out before the medication can be dispensed. School policy states all medications must be stored in the office.

Snacks The second grade students at Santa Fe eat lunch at 11:20 a.m. We have an early lunch and many students need a snack in the afternoon. Please help with snacks when it is convenient for you. Your child’s name will be written on the snack and will be stored until he/she may pass them out to everyone. Please send snacks for 22 students.

Parent Portal Support If you are the parent or guardian of a 2 nd – 12 th grade student in Moore Public Schools and you do not have a Parent Portal account, visit your child’s school to obtain an activation code. Using a portal account, you will be able to see your child’s assignments, grades and attendance from any computer with internet access. How To Get an Account You must have a photo ID and visit your child’s school to receive an activation code.

Scholastic Book Orders Scholastic book orders will be sent home monthly. If you choose to order, please send the completed order form with a check payable to Scholastic. Cash is also accepted. If you prefer, orders may also be placed online. A letter is attached to your child’s first book order. We would like to thank you in advance for ordering books for your child. Our classroom receives useful materials, including books for our classroom library.

Student Interest Letter It is important that we are partners in your child’s education. Please take a moment to write to me about your child. As a parent, what are some important things I should know? What are your child’s interests? How does your child think, feel, play, and how do you see your child as a learner and as a person?
