8 Brussels October 2012 Sub-Theme 2 – Engaging the private sector for development - Objectives EDDs 2012 as forum for discussion of innovative models and new approaches to private-public collaboration; Stimulate discussion among private, public and civil society actors about their respective roles and collaboration in development

New form of industrial policy for developing countries. Merits and limits of mobilizing private sector funding for development through blending of grants and loans. Role of the private sector in transition to a green economy Inclusive business models for improving the conditions of households and workers at the "base of the pyramid".
