History and Development of Badminton Game Badminton is a racket game,using a racket and shuttle cork.The game was originally called ´PONNA´´,it was later changed to Badminton by the Duke of Beaufort in 1878. In 1934,the International Badminton Federation was formed in England.Badminton was introdused to Nigeria by the colonial masters in 1930 and the Badminton Federation of Nigeria was formed in 1975.Badminton is an indoor game played y both male and female as single,double and mixed double.
