Medical Care During Pregnancy See a doctor or obstetrician Due date: 9 months + 1 week Later checkups – once a month for 6 months, 2 visits a month from 6 th -8 th months. Then 1 visit a week for 9 th month

Discomforts of Pregnancy Many go without any discomfort or concerns! Some may experience a lot of discomfort, such as: -Nausea -Sleepiness -Heartburn -Short of breath -Muscle cramps -Lower back pain

Nutrition During Pregnancy Role of Nutrients Protein: meat, fish, poultry, eggs, milk, cheese, beans, tofu and nuts Vitamins: folic acid, vitamin A, B, C, D Minerals: iron, calcium, phosphorous Carbohydrates & Fats: fruits, vegetables, whole-grain breads and cereals. Most people get enough fat in their diet, fats should be avoided
