H OW D IABETES AFFECT THE DIGESTIVE S YSTEM By: Efren Fuertes

H OW DO YOU GET DIABETES ? Diabetes is the increase of the blood sugar level. High blood sugar is known as hyperglycemia. Its controlled by the hormone insulin. Diabetes happens in the digestive system in the organ called the pancreas. The cells start to stop responding to the insulin, which means the door which allows glucose to enter won’t open. The amount of glucose lets the blood level to go higher and higher. If there is too much insulin in the blood or too little of glucose in the cell, the pancreas will continue to produce insulin until the glucose level goes down.

W HAT HAPPENS TO THE SYSTEM ? Diabetes affects the pancreas which allows glucose break down food. Well if diabetes comes into your body, it would be harder for the pancreas to digest the food and it would build up. Sugar is the most common substance that leads to diabetes. Sugar dangers your blood by having the blood sugar spike up and it is really dangerous to have it. Sometimes people might have commas, because of diabetes. Here are the steps of having a comma: Weakness Excessive thirst Fatigue Nausea Confusion or disorientation Convulsions Coma

H OW THE BODY TRIES TO FIX ITSELF ? The body could heal itself from diabetes by having a diet, exercise, and much more!!! Here are some ways to help repair and heal the body from type 2 diabetes only: Superior nutrition, i.e. plant-based foods, anti- inflammatory foods, raw juice Maintaining blood glucose levels in the normal range Strengthening the immune system Cleanse & detox Quality sleep Consistent (low-impact) exercise, combined with strength training Avoidance of "dead" processed foods and beverages Avoidance of prescription/OTC and recreational drugs Avoidance of high stress

T YPES OF MEDICINES AND IS IT CURABLE ? Oral diabetes pills help to keep the blood sugar levels under control. Here are a list of medicines that help you from diabetes: Biguanides Meglitinides Sulfonylurea Thiazolidinediones Alpha glucosidase inhibitors Dipeptidyl peptidase inhibitors Ergot alkaloids Combination medications
