3. Definition Diabetes- a chronic disease that affects the way body cells convert food into energy.

Description Glucose- energy source for cells from foods Insulin- hormone that helps glucose enter body cells The pancreas produces too little or no insulin or the insulin is not used properly in the body If cells do not get glucose, they starve and can’t function. Glucose builds up in blood and produces problems if not controlled.
