Presentation transcript:

Article review The article is “Technology and Early Childhood Education: A Technology integration Professional Development Model for Practicing Teachers” written by Jared Keengwe & Grace Onchwari. By Roqayah

A short summary of the article. “Despite the promise of technology in education, many practicing teachers are facing with multiple challenges of effective integrations technology into their classroom instructions.” by Keengwe, J & Onchwari, G.

The barriers of technology integration into classroom instruction: Lack of personal familiarity with technology. Lack of technical support. Lack of fund. Lack of connection between technology training and the curriculum. Lack of time.

Some solutions and recommendations that the authors offer to overcome the barriers: Participating in sessions to help teacher to effectively integrating technology in their classroom instruction. Install new technology tools that support new educational software.

My reflection It is very important that teachers receive the support they need to overcome the barriers of integration technology in their classroom instructional. But, It is not necessary that all these solutions and strategies would work in all environments because every environment is different and each environment needs to have difference mixt of solutions and strategies. So, Administrators should consider the barriers highlighted as well as challenges that may be unique to their own environment, Also, they should consider strategies to address these challenges based on their available resources.
