3 What is the Texas STaR Chart?  A Tool for Planning and Assessing aligned with the Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020 Can be used to:  create and update the district’s technology plan  measure progress in student and teacher technology literacy and integration into all content areas as required by NCLB  determine funding priorities

4 SBEC Technology Standards for All Teachers There are 5 Standards required by All Teachers  All teachers use technology-related terms, concepts, data input strategies, and ethical practices to make informed decisions about current technologies and their applications.  All teachers identify task requirements, apply search strategies, and use current technology to efficiently acquire, analyze, and evaluate a variety of electronic information.  All teachers use task-appropriate tools to synthesize knowledge, create and modify solutions, and evaluate results in a way that supports the work of individuals and groups in problem-solving situations.  All teachers communicate information in different formats and for diverse audiences.  All teachers know how to plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate instruction for all students that incorporates the effective use of current technology for teaching and integrating the TA TEKS into the curriculum.

10 Submitting the Texas Campus STaR Chart  Each teacher on the campus must submit an online survey  Must be completed online by campus principal  Must be used annually to gauge progress  Data can be reported to school boards, community groups, campus and district planning committees
