2011 Transfer Admission Practices

CSUSB will continue to declare campus-wide impaction for transfer students for Community Colleges located within CSUSB’s defined local admission area will be admitted based on the minimum standard CSU admission requirements. Students are required to complete the Golden 4 at the end of spring for fall 2012 admissions. Golden 4 must be satisfied with a grade of “C” or better (no “C-” is accepted). Please refer to CSUSB Admissions website for local and non-local admission area and admission updates at Local Admission Areas (includes specific school districts within San Bernardino and Riverside counties) San Bernardino County Community Colleges Chaffey College, San Bernardino Valley College, Victor Valley College, Crafton Hills College and Barstow College. Riverside County Community Colleges Riverside Community College District, College of the Desert, Mt. San Jacinto College, Palo Verde College and Copper Mountain College.

Submit application during application priority filing period and meet all transcript, confirmation deposit of $100 and document deadlines. Students should check their campus account and MyCoyote account regularly for important information from CSUSB. Attend appointment dates at local community colleges, CSUSB Presentation, Application Workshop, Financial Aid Workshop or CSUSB Open House event on Oct. 29, 2011 for information and assistance. Remember when a student is first admitted it's on a provisional or conditional basis and they must meet all admission requirements with their final transcript!

The B.S.N. program is impacted and only admits new students in Fall and Winter quarters. Nursing website: Nursing accepts 88 B.S.N. students each year (supplemental application required). Deadlines for Nursing Admission applications are: Fall quarter - January 1 st – March 1 st. Winter quarter - September 1 st - October 1 st. Pre-Nursing advising sessions is mandatory (schedule available on nursing website). Palm Desert Campus accepts 22 B.S.N. students every Fall term.

The B.A.S.W. program admits new students only in Fall quarter (supplemental application required). Social Work accepts 50 B.A.S.W. students each Fall. Deadline to apply for Fall is the last Friday in April. Application packet available to download at B.A.S.W. Admission Information Sessions available (not required) and students can questions to social work advisors.

The Kinesiology concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy (PPT) is impacted. Applications for Fall will begin on March 1 st - May 1 st of each academic year. Kinesiology PPT students can start any academic quarter and should declare their major as Kinesiology “undeclared” concentration. Students must earn a 3.2 in all college/university coursework and all prerequisites. Kinesiology website:

After a student submits their application to CSUMentor, they will receive the following – Application Acknowledgment containing their Coyote ID and instructions on activating their MyCoyote account and campus . Local Area admission notifications sent via begin in November/December. Non-Local Area admission notifications sent via begin in January. Second reviews begin in January/February, when partial transcripts are received. Denial notifications sent via s begin in January. Final decisions notifications begin in May/June, once final transcripts/documents are received. EOP applications have rolling deadlines.

Feb. 15 th – Partial transcripts due with fall grades May 1 st – Confirmation deposit of $100 due July 15 th – Deadline for all documents – Final College transcripts, test scores, application fee, residency documents, etc. All admission requirements should be completed by the end of Spring Semester. Specific questions and appeals may be referred to the Associate Directors in the Office of Admissions & Student Recruitment. Winter and spring quarters are subject to space availability and budget.
