4 FALL 2012 SELECTION PROCESS FRESNO STATE IS IMPACTED FOR FIRST-TIME FRESHMAN FALL 2012 Local Admission Area : Fresno, Madera, Tulare, and Kings Counties Applicants from the CSU Fresno-defined local admission area will be admitted based on CSU system wide eligibility criteria. Local Applicants WITH 3.0 GPA or higher will be admitted without SAT/ACT SAT or ACT strongly recommended for all students Athletes must meet regular admissions requirements and NCAA eligibility requirements LOCAL ADMISSION AREA

5 FALL 2012 SELECTION PROCESS FRESNO STATE IS IMPACTED FOR FIRST-TIME FRESHMAN FALL 2012 Out of Area Students will be ranked ordered by eligibility index and admission offers will be made in descending order of eligibility until the freshman class is full. SAT or ACT scores are required for all applicants from schools outside the local area. Test scores must be submitted by January 15, 2012. OUT OF AREA SPECIAL ADMITS Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP)

8 FILING PERIODS, CON’T March 15, 2012 ACCEPT/DECLINE ADMISSIONS OFFER BEGINS DOG DAYS (New Student Orientation) – $55 student fee MANDATORY for FTF March 2, 2012 Last Day for priority filing for FAFSA April 14, 2012 PREVIEW DAY May 1, 2012 Deadline to Accept/Decline Admissions Offer Deadline to Register and Pay for DOG DAYS. June, July 2012 DOG DAYS: New Student Orientation sessions June 30, 2012 Deadline for Admitted first time freshmen to submit final official high school transcript.

Students will not be allowed to enroll if they do not meet the following: Did not sign up or pay for Dog Days Did not Accept Admissions Did not send final high school transcript after graduation Must meet all document deadlines

10 OVERVIEW OF RESCINDING ADMISSIONS Did not meet “a-g” requirements High school graduation not posted on final transcript Did not meet Eligibility Index Did not receive final high school transcript after graduation

11 APPEALS and SECOND REVIEW PROCESS Submit Special Admission Request form via email or mail. Appeals will be considered on a case by case basis only. Notification of decision or update on request will occur within 30 days.

12 EARLY START PROGRAM (ESP) Students must begin their remediation the summer before their fall enrollment at a CSU. -Admissions will begin communicating with students as early as October on their expected ESP participation. -Communication with admitted applicants will continue throughout spring semester. -ELM/EPT, if required, must be taken as early as possible (no later than May) -Students must notify Fresno State of how they will complete their required ESP participation. -Students may complete ESP at Fresno State, other CSUs, or CCCs.
