Micro-teaching is a technique, developed by A. W. Allen, Stanford University,1963. It is a scaled down process or teaching ie; it requires short time [ 5 to 10 mins.], short group [ 5 to 10 students], simple content, single teaching skill. Micro-teaching skill is used to develop a single teaching skill. MICRO-TEACHING

CORE TEACHING SKILLS The skills that are used extensively in routine teaching by a teacher. These skills are known as Core Teaching Skills. Many experts in this field have listed 10 skills as core teaching skills.

LIST OF CORE TEACHING SKILLS 1. Skill of introducing a lesson. 2. Skill of blackboard writing. 3. Skill of promoting pupil’s participation. 4. Skill of reinforcement. 5. Skill of illustrating with examples. 6. Skill of probing questions. 7. Skill of demonstration. 8. Skill of explaining. 9. Skill of stimulus variation. 10. Skill of questioning [fluency].
