Objective and Approach Extending and expanding Lionism throughout Texas Take wishes/ideas; make them happen by creating a detailed plan to put them into action Roll out the plan; monitor adoption and progress Get back to the basics of membership: – recruitment – rebuilding – retention Introduce tangible, physical assets to work with Focus on enhanced visibility of Lions at work in Service Bring new attention to Lions w/ state-wide partnership in a common cause Retain leeway for individual DGs’ subsequent action plans

Theme Evolution/Significance Looked for words or catch phase that resonates w/ Texans, e.g. “Remember the ….” Root word of “membership” is “member” The word “member” can be used as an action word, i.e. to populate Re-member is the opposite of “dismember” (reduce) Hence, “reMEMBER Texas” is a catch phase w/ double meaning – Carries a connotation of a battle cry for action – Rolls once “membered” have to be “reMEMBERed” reMEMBER TEXAS reMEMBER Texas

Program Facets A three-pronged approach – “reMEMBER Texas” kits – Special cause adoption – Emphasis days Each facet contains elements of the 3 R’s of membership (Recruit, Rebuild, Retain) Physical, tangible assets combined with increased visibility and presence

Token/Coin Program Wooden reMEMBER token imprinted w/ “Remember to Ask” & “Remember to Serve” Tokens to be distributed to every State Lion Carry on oneself every day as a daily reminder – Pocket, Key Chain, Bracelet, Otherwise Pass token to new member sponsored w/ instruction to do the same Tokens replenished as needed; metallic commemorative/collectable coins awarded to sponsors (check w/DG)

Special Cause Adoption Announcing: MD-2 Lions partner with Prevent Child Abuse Texas Promote statewide awareness and make Lions more visible by participating in “Wear Blue Day” (April 2016) Have local advocates come to give a program; publicize; invite membership to those who attend Details in the “reMEMBER” newspaper

Emphasis Days Become more visible in our communities and within the State Statewide – Club Information Days (October 2015) – “Bring a Prospect to Lunch” (April 2016) Local – Booths at civic events – Perform service in public view: projects; charity partnerships – Speak at chamber events – Designate club PR chairs; make use of media outlets – Community Needs Assessments

Feed Down/Delivery to Club Level Means to deliver “reMEMBER Texas” message and kit resources at each DG’s discretion (who, how, time, place) Personal briefing to club president & membership chair a must though – not merely a drop off; make an appointment Use the “reMEMBER Kit Presentation Talking Points” sheet to lead briefing/discussion Do Not Disburse Kits Until July 1, 2015
