Presentation transcript:

ET-493 Senior Design By: Brian Toomer Advisor: Mr. Rode’

 The purpose of this project is to show that I can complete a construction project using all aspects of the construction process.  This project will exercise the skills and abilities learned from the Construction Engineering Technology program.

 Preliminary Drawings  Rough Estimate  Economic Feasibility Report  Site Assessment and Selection  Decision on Building Layout  Building Codes

 Wood Framed  Concrete Foundation  Estimated 3,826 sq. ft. for each building  Estimated 957 sq. ft. for each unit.

 Drawings will be used for a rough estimate and budget.  One story layout.  Two story layout.  Each building will have 4 units.  Three bedrooms  Two Bathrooms  Kitchen  Utility  Living and Dining Room

 Cost/Benefits Analysis Do the Benefits outweigh the Costs for the owner? Will it be a profitable business ? How long will it take for the business to pay itself off?

 Location will be in the Hammond area.  The owner would like a site big enough for future expansion, if desired.  Once the land is chosen it will be surveyed.  Building codes will be acquired.  The location, size, and cost of property will determine: The building layout that will be used. The number of buildings that can be built on the property.

 The completion of the activities this semester will allow the full completion of the pre-construction documents for next semester.

The construction documents will include:  Final Drawings (using AutoCad):  Floor plan  Electrical  Plumbing  Elevations  Schedules and Details of Construction  Overall Site Drawing (parking included)

 Building specifications  Building Permits  Project budget and financing  A complete estimation of labor, costs, and materials  Detailed materials and equipment list  Planning and scheduling of the project using Primavera Project Planner.
