Tobacco-Free Policy The new HCPS tobacco-free policy, adopted by the School Board in 2012 following a thorough public input process, will take effect Thursday, August 1, The policy prohibits the use or consumption of all tobacco and tobacco-related products on school property, including chew, cigarettes, pipes and electronic cigarettes. It applies 24/7 to teachers, staff, parents, guests, students, visitors, contractors and others on school grounds, including parking lots and athletic facilities.
