Computer Lab Rules Report to class on time –If you are not in class when the bell rings,report to counselor for pass/detention

Computer Lab Rules Stay in assigned seats –You are accountable for the computer which is assigned to you –You are responsible for saving your work on your assigned computer you must log on to assigned computer to complete keyboard lessons

Computer Lab Rules NO Food or Drink

Computer Lab Rules Maintain a quiet business-like setting –Stay on task this is not the time for socializing –Conversations should be limited to task at hand

Computer Lab Rules Keep workstation area clean –Throw away trash at end of the hour

Computer Lab Rules –Report computer problems immediately You are responsible for your workstation

Computer Lab Rules No music, headphones, ipods, or other electronic devices. –This is a school wide rule –Cell phones are not to be seen or heard.

Lab Procedures If you must leave the room for an emergency, you are required to report to the counselor and obtain a pass

Lab Procedures No pencils or paper are required No homework –All assignments will be completed in class, using your PC

Lab Procedures Always begin class by checking “mygradebook.com for up to date grades and missing assignments. Use your assigned “classword” password is your initials, followed by first 3 digits of your student ID

Lab Procedures Always save your work to your desktop folder. –Label your folder with your “last” name

Lab Procedures- Printing You may print “educational” materials as necessary. Always do a “print preview”, before sending your request to the network printer.

Lab Procedures- Printing Include your name, date, and hour on daily classroom assignments You do not need to pick up your printed assignment- Mr. Watkins will pick it up.

Lab Procedures- Quizzes All quizzes are completed online at Quizzes should be completed on the day they are assigned, unless you are absent.

Lab Procedures- Keyboarding Keyboarding tests must be done in the lab using “EMC” software. You must log in to your assigned computer to get test results. You should monitor your test scores daily using “Teachkey”

Lab Procedures-make up work Class work and quizzes can be made up within 2 weeks of the assigned date. If absent, you may me for the work, or check my website.

Lab Procedures- Plagiarizing If a student turns in a paper that is not their own work, they will receive a “nc”- no credit, and will not be able to make up the assignment.

Lab Procedures- All students are required to create a g-mail account through Google

Lab Procedures- Send your address to Mr.Watkins- Check your mail regularly. If possible, use your name as the address. Ex: Some assignments are given through g-mail

Lab Procedures- Dismissal Do not shut down your computer Close all programs Log out of your accounts When possible, save your work Return papers to the front of the room

Computer Lab - Grading Your grade is based on classroom assignments online quizzes keyboarding tests final test/ project

Computer Lab - Grading Monitor your grades daily using mygradebook.com Parents can also access your grades using your password.

Computer Lab – Grading (creative writing only) Computer applications counts for 40% of your total grade Your grade is averaged between the two classes
