THE VERB “DOLER”

Me gusta/me gustan Me gusta la música rock. Me gustan los perros pequeños. ¡No me gustan los gatos!

Doler works the same way… Just like “me gusta” actually means “it’s pleasing to me,” “me duele” means “it’s painful to me/it hurts me” Me duele el brazo. My arm hurts me.

Plural Me gustan las canciónes de amor. Because we’re talking about several songs, gustan is plural. With doler, if more than one body part hurts (your ears hurt) you use duelen. Me duelen las orejas.
