The Harvest Unit April Spence

The harvest unit is designed to span a six week period with the culminating activity being a community luncheon.

I am in the STAR Academy at Hackett High School. I have been in the STAR Academy for two years. In the STAR Academy we do a lot of hands on projects. Every year my class and I do a luncheon at the school. This year it will be called the Harvest unit. The Harvest unit gets us ready for life. We learn how to: set tables, cook, clean, follow directions, find a budget, write letters, and how to type. I am asking for a donation to help us get what we need for the Harvest unit. I am in the 7th grade, and we are participating in a Harvest unit where we make a Thanksgiving dinner for our families and our guests. We learn real life skills in this unit. Math assignment #1  Metric system vs. U.S. Customary system  Students are given several vocabulary words, such as liter, gallon, decigram, millimeter, etc, and we classify them as metric or customary.  We go a step further and identify each vocabulary word as length, weight/mass, or volume
