Background ◦ Project Scope Replace existing Tungsten light source with LED Retain the existing lighting points Recreate exactly the same lighting feel Compatible with existing DMX control system Seamless dimming to zero Viable ROI
A program of works where the capital cost is recovered through energy savings which are guaranteed by E.ON £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ £ Implementation costs (incl. financing ) Ongoing savings Guaranteed savings period Guaranteed savings p.a. Savings in the early years repay the initial capital investment thereby limiting client risk Client net benefit Energy Performance Contracting
Nottingham Energy Performance Contract E.ON secured a contract under the RE:FIT Framework to deliver an EPC for Nottingham City Council. £1.2M Investment to deliver a 26% energy saving across 8 buildings, including Leisure Centres, Care Homes and a Sports Stadium. All savings guaranteed for 7 years in order to pay back the original investment. One of the 8 Buildings is the Royal Concert Hall.

Design Challenges (DES) The Building
Project Hardware – AlphaLED ◦ High Level Lighting (20m+ Height) 60 x Bespoke fittings created Mechanical Interface 2700 CCT – To match tungsten “feel” 3000Lm 28° Beam For punch and penetration. Replaced 300W R95 lamps
Project Hardware – AlphaLED ◦ Low Level Lighting 458 Down lighters Across 4 levels. 2700 CCT Match tungsten feel 11.5 TCW. Replaced 75W Lamps
AlphaLED Attributes ◦ Initial Colour Consistency 1 x 2 step SDCM specification. Consistent wall washing ◦ Colour Consistency Guaranteed No colour shift over life (5 years, 50,000 hrs) ◦ Low Lumen Depreciation L95 50,000 hrs capability
Control Gear ◦ DMX Capable – Dim to Zero Light level EldoLED Powerdrive.
Outcome – Theatre Prospective LED/energy saving houselights and dimming, the bottom 10% Maintenance and consumable savings (700 bulb changes a year previously) Audience reaction to the change
