1. Self-respect Pride and belief in one's self and in achievement of one's potential. 2. Respect for others Concern for and motivation to act for the welfare of others

 Value and honor all people, no matter what they can do for you or to you  Respect others’ property — take good care of property you are allowed to use and don’t take or use property without permission  Judge others on their character, abilities, and conduct without regard to race, religion, gender, where they live, how they dress, or the amount of money they have  Be tolerant, respectful, and accepting of those who are different from you  Listen to others and try to understand their points of view

1. What do you like most about the way people treat each other here at school? Does it have anything to do with respect? 2. Is there anything you dislike about the way people treat each other here at school? Do you know of any disrespectful behavior? Describe it. 3. How does treating people with respect affect your friendships? 4. Agree or disagree: When people stay out of a bully’s way, they are showing respect.

 True False I treat other people the way I want to be treated.  True or False I am considerate of other people.  True or False I treat people with civility, courtesy, and dignity.  True or False I accept personal differences.  True or False I work to solve problems without violence.  True or False I never intentionally ridicule, embarrass, or hurt others.

 Aretha Franklin well-known for many songs and her beautiful voice.  The Fresh Prince of Bel Air was, and still is, a popular show today. In this episode, Ashley feels that her family is not respecting her and the fact that she is becoming a young woman. She feels that her parents and siblings should trust her and give her more freedom as she grows up. 
