Respect property  Do not take, break, destroy and mess up your teacher`s and classmates` belongings.  Do not break even your pencils – your parents work hard to buy you school supplies.  Do not disrespect anyone and anything.  Show respect by asking permission before using someone else’s things.

At school …  We should have the ability to agree and disagree civilly.  We must consider the needs and rights of all people.  We must not allow any excuse for disrespect.  We have the opportunity to impact our school community and build a respectful environment for everyone.

Our teachers  They must promote democratic values.  They must promote friendships between the individuals.  They must help students seek out interactions with different groups of people.  They must encourage students –let them speak, share opinions and have a voice.

The students  Must do their best to treat everyone fairly.  Must do their best to be kind to everyone— even if they are not like them.  Must tell a teacher, if they see someone being hurt or bullied.  Must know that everyone should be able to feel safe and happy in school.

No bullying ! Because bullying is violence ! Violence is any mean word, look, sign, or act that hurts a person’s body, feelings, or things.

No bullying ! Do you know that …  The average bullying behavior lasts only 37 seconds.  Teachers notice and intervene in only 1 out of 25 episodes.  Occurs at least 2 – 3 times per month.  71% of school shooters had been victims of bullying.

Do not forget !  Everyone is special in their own way.  If you show respect to the others, they will give it back as a favor.  Respect yourself.  Respect the others.  Respect the school.  People do better when they feel better.  When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everybody will respect you.
