We have many types of relationships in your life, and you play different roles in all of them. Relationship- A bond or connection you have with other people You have relationships with many people Family Members Friends Teachers Classmates People in you community

Most important relationships in your life Relationships that last a lifetime Healthy family relationships strengthen every side of your health triangle Physical –food, clothing, and shelter Mental- Love, care, and encouragement Social- teaching you values, and social skills

Friendship- A significant relationship between two people that is based on trust, caring, and consideration. Can form between people of any age You may choose friends because Similar interests Share your values They live near you Good friends benefit your overall health by being a positive influence on your self- esteem and help you resist harmful behaviors

5 Relationships in your community
Citizenship- The way you conduct yourself as a member of the community Obey laws Be friendly to neighbors Help improve the places around where they live Being a part of your community has a positive impact on your health Promotes healthy behaviors Provides resources to help you

Role- A part you play in your relationships -You play several roles everyday with different people Son or daughter Student Friend Teammate employee

In Healthy relationships , people respect and support each other, should encourage you to make healthy choices Mutual respect Caring Honesty Commitment

The 3 C’s for healthy relationships Communication- the exchange of thoughts, feelings, and beliefs between 2 or more people Cooperation- working together for the good of all Work with others to reach a common goal Compromise- a problem solving method in which each participant gives up something to reach a solution that satisfies everyone Give and take
