How to use a bunsen burner Safely When using a bunsen burner it is important to follow a few safety rules in order to be safe. Always be careful to remove flammable materials when using the burner. Be sure that you or your partner stay nearby while the burner is being used. Be sure that long hair is tied back whether it belongs to a boy or a girl. Never reach over the bunsen burner flame whether it looks like it is lit or not. If anything goes wrong, you should turn off the gas right away.
