AFM 121 teaches students a broad range of finance concepts and skills pertaining to subjects such as investments, stocks, and bonds learn about investing options and how to make good investment decisions SPCOM 111 teaches students the ‘soft skills’ that they will need to be able to apply their technical skills to the workplace and communicate the outcomes of their work learn a variety of concepts and theories around interpersonal communication and be able to relate it to their own personal relationships as well as their relationships with their coworkers and superiors in a professional setting explore ideas such as: how power can be exerted over someone through language, how to communicate in different settings and how those settings impact the communication, how the purpose of what/how you communicate relates to your responsibility to communicate certain things, and how communication affects interpersonal relationships learn how to give effective presentations and evaluate the presentations of others while working in teams and communicating in such a way as to achieve a collective goal year 1 afm schedule
