What is CHARGEnorth? CHARGEnorth: Connected Humanities And Research Geared for Engineering A 4-year cohort program for students seeking a high- level, hands-on, rigorous, STEM experience while in high school

STEM: Science, Technology, & Engineering Humanities: Language Arts & AP Social Studies Research: Extra lab time is available before & after school and during lunches; projects are connected to personal areas of interest and course content

4 What’s a day like in CHARGEnorth?
9th, 10th, & 11th grades—half day spent in the program Humanities block (Language Arts & AP Social Studies) STEM block (Science & Engineering) A Scientific Research course is blended with both blocks Half day spent in classes outside of the program (Math, Foreign Language, & other electives) 12th grade—flexible schedule combining AP, Dual Enrollment, and/or online classes with an internship and senior AP Capstone project

9 Eligibility Requirements
Eighth grade students must meet the eligibility requirements listed below in order to be eligible for the lottery process. Resident of North Gwinnett Cluster (if moving into the North Gwinnett Cluster, residency must be established prior to enrollment if selected) 8th grade student enrolled in Accelerated Algebra or higher Must complete and submit the online interest form and essay by the deadline (Friday, January 11th) Participate in a performance-based team activity (Saturday, Jan. 26th)   Students meeting these criteria will be entered into a lottery for selection.

10 Lottery Process Public lottery drawing (Monday, January 28, the ISC) 100 student cohort Waitlist for students not selected in the first 100 Information session for accepted and waitlisted students Offered as a breakout session during Rising 9th Grade Night on Monday, February 18th Commitments due by Friday. March 1st Waitlisted students will be contacted as spots become available

11 Important Dates November 28 Interest form available online
January 11 Interest form deadline January 26 Performance-based team activity January 28 Public lottery drawing at 9am at the ISC February 1 Admission decisions will be ed based on lottery results February 18 STEM meeting at NGHS March 1 Commitment deadline June/July STEM summer program
