The American Revolution The war for freedom

I can… SS4H4 explain the causes, events, and results of the American Revolution.

The American Revolution causes… Trace the events that shaped the revolutionary movement in America, including the French and Indian War

French and Indian War Fought between England and France It was fought to have control over land (Ohio Valley) George Washington War lasted 9 years!!!!!

French and Indian War The French and Natives fought against Great Britain The 13 colonies helped Britain to win the war. Treaty of Paris officially ended the war It was a Britain victory!!!!

Treaty of Paris 1763 Gave Great Britain the land west of the Mississippi River. Spain gave up Florida

Effects from French and Indian War Native Americans wanted the British to leave the Ohio Valley. The Natives began a rebellion against British government. Britain won the rebellion but to prevent more fighting they issued: The Proclamation of 1763

The Proclamation of 1763 Colonist could not settle west of the Appalachian Mountains This land was considered Indian Nation Colonist were upset because now the French was gone they wanted to settle in the Ohio Valley

Boston Tea Party: Effects Letter stated that the colonist should have the same freedom as the British. It asked for parliament to stop taxing the colonist without an agreement and to repel the Intolerable acts. The colonist began training for war, and stopped trade with Britain.

Boston Tea Party Effects: The King’s response was the colonist have started a rebellion so he sends more soldiers to Boston.

Battle of Yorktown 1781 Cornwallis thought he would be rescued by the British’s Navy but the French blocked them Cornwallis was trapped and soon had to surrender. Yorktown was the last major battle but the war continued for two more years.
