Goals for Tonight Provide important information on dual credit opportunities, including: Running Start (traditional) Advanced Placement (A.P.) Running Start in the High School College in the High School Provide an opportunity for you to get your specific questions answered

Goals for RHS Dual Credit Program Eliminate barriers to post-secondary education and training. College Tuition and Expenses Vehicle, fuel, and other travel expenses. Academic Preparation Help students explore post-secondary pathways and see themselves as well prepared for the next steps!

Traditional Running Start Qualifying students attend local community colleges to earn college and high credit simultaneously. Travel expenses to the college Book and material costs (usually $50 - $150 per class) Limited Access to student information

Advanced Placement (A.P.) Students earn high school credit and prepare for the college-level A.P. exam. Students score from 1-5 on the exam. Individual Colleges and Universities may award college credit, depending on scores of 3,4, or 5. No additional travel expenses Book and material costs covered by RHS Same access to teachers, counselors and student information “A.P.” designation is attractive on college entrance applications

Available for Juniors and Seniors (currently) High School Teacher has met university requirements for teaching the course. College tuition paid through state funding Limited to 10 credits per year No additional travel expenses Book and material costs often covered by RHS Same access to teachers, counselors and student information Credits are transferrable to most other colleges
