2 Calhoun AP Credit Assurance Dual Enrollment for 2019-20
HCS students take an AP dual enrollment class with HCS AP teachers who have been approved by Calhoun. The students pay tuition to Calhoun for their dual enrollment class. If a student makes a qualifying score (based on the college they are attending) on the AP exam, they take the receipt for their tuition along with their qualifying score report to Calhoun and they will have a $496 credit ($162 a credit hour) to spend on an additional class at Calhoun. If a student does not make a qualifying score on the AP exam and passes the course (C or higher in English), they receive college credit for the course at Calhoun.

3 Calhoun AP Credit Assurance Dual Enrollment for 2019-20
 Eligible courses AP English Language (ENG 101) AP US History (HIS 2020) AP Biology (BIO 103) AP Chemistry (CHM 111) STUDENT ELIGIBILITY Students must be in grade 11 or 12 to participate in The Credit Assurance Plan. Students seeking enrollment in courses leading to Dual Enrollment for Dual Credit coursework must have a minimum cumulative (unweighted) high school grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Students must meet the established college placement criteria prior to enrolling in Dual Enrollment for Dual Credit coursework. All students who opt for Dual Enrollment will complete a Credit Assurance Plan agreement at the beginning of the school year stating that they are seeking Dual Enrollment and AP credit in the class and that they understand that in order to be eligible for the tuition waiver they must pass the class, take the relevant AP exam and earn a score of three (3) or higher on the exam.

Our newest Dual Enrollment Agreement - This program allows students to earn college credit hours through online course options or on campus while still in high school. Provides a Summer Residential Experience. Choose from a range of subjects (English, Math, Computer Science, History, and Foreign Languages. Eligible for possible scholarships options. Students in the State of Alabama Students in the state of Alabama with a 3.0 GPA are eligible for a 50% tuition scholarship. If a student meets the eligibility requirements for the partial tuition scholarship, the award is automatically given! Accessibility to all UA academic resources (UA libraries, Writing Center, Center for Academic Success) Possible eligibility without submitting SAT or ACT scores. Eligibility for priority housing if attending UA in post secondary years. Requirements: Cumulative 3.0 or higher GPA since 9th grade year. Current 10th- 12th grade student. Passing grade in the prerequisite College Readiness Course that can be taken online.

5 University of Alabama Early College Option Steps To Take
Step 1: Apply to UA Early College Complete an online application and student essay. Ask your counselor to sign a cover memo and submit it, along with your transcript, to UA Early College. Must be a current sophomore, junior or senior in high school with a 3.0 or higher grade point average (or the equivalent), cumulative since the 9th grade. Step 2: Take UAEC 200 College Readiness Course UAEC 200 teaches you how to be a successful college student. UAEC First Class Meeting is on campus for students and parents for 2.5 hours All students are required to pass UAEC 200 to be eligible for any further courses, including online courses as well as the Summer On Campus experience. Step 3: Choose When to Take Classes
