UT Tyler Scholarships The University of Texas at Tyler offers many scholarships designed to attract and retain outstanding degree-seeking students. Students may not receive more than one academic scholarship award from the university each semester. holarships/index.php

New Graduate Fellowship Award Amount: $1,000 per year To qualify, students must: – Be accepted to a degree-seeking program at UT Tyler by May 1st – Be in your first semester of graduate school at UT Tyler – Students must have a 3.25 GPA on the last 60 hours of their undergraduate coursework. – Enroll full-time (9 credit hours for the semester awarded) Scholarship funds are limited Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee an award Application Deadlines: – Fall - May 1 st – Spring - November 1 st

Returning Student/College Scholarships Scholarship eligibility will be considered based on information provided on the online scholarship application. Deadlines for submission of College Scholarship application: – Fall: April 1 – Spring: November 1 – Summer: April 15 They range in criteria, requirements and amounts. Scholarship funds are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first- served basis.

Tuition Waivers Research Assistant/Teaching Assistant – Prior to 1st day of class, we will accept a letter (or ) from the Department stating that student is working as a Teaching or Research Assistant for a minimum of 19.5 hours/week. – Deadline is the 12th Day of Class. – Effective date of employment must be on or before the official “first class day”. Competitive Scholarship Waiver – To qualify for waiver of nonresident tuition rates, students must receive a competitive academic scholarship totaling $1,000 or more for the academic year Requests for exemptions or waivers must be completed prior to the census date each semester.
