 Apprenticeships offer businesses a fantastic way to introduce, nurture and mold young people into their workforce  Support Funding is available for your business as well as the apprentice  Build business success by ensuring your staff receive up to date training

 The AGE Grant for Employers aims to support businesses, who would not otherwise be in a position to do so, to recruit individuals aged 16 to 24 into employment though the Apprenticeship programme.  The National Apprenticeship Service will provide AGE to eligible employers, in respect of qualifying apprentices, with an individual value of £1,500. Employers can be paid ten grants in total during the lifetime of the initiative.  AGE targets employers with less than 1000 employees, who are new to Apprenticeships or haven’t enrolled a new recruit or existing employee onto an Apprenticeship programme in the previous12 months.

 Activ8Learning is part of a joint venture with Making It Happen Mentoring. This enables Activ8 to offer quality advice and guidance advisors offering support with  robust recruitment, induction and appraisal  health and safety and risk assessment process  support to manage the apprenticeships process through specialist Human Resources Legal Health and Safety Management and Mentoring

Making It Happen Mentoring works closely with Job Center Plus. This enables partners to train and up grade the skills of many people who are unemployed and looking for work. Over the past 5 years we have found 30% of learners employment though jointly working with employers and the learner to progress on to relevant and further training.

 All learners go through a rigorous induction  Initial assessment on functional skills  Induction onto the qualification program  All learners have a one to one tutor/assessor  All learners have their own support package meetings their learning styles and needs.  Resource's are available to support learners  Flexible group working for a team of learners within the workplace that suits the business

 Pay and right to minimum wage  Apprentices are paid from the first day of their apprenticeship and they’re entitled to the National Minimum Wage.  The current minimum wage rate for an apprentice is £2.65/hour. This rate applies to apprentices aged 16 – 18 and those 19 or over who are in their first year.  Apprentices aged 19 or over who have completed their first year must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age.
