What Do We Like About Sawtry College? We have put our heads together and thought about our favourite things at school – the following is a summary of our thoughts.

What has been your best day at Sawtry College?  I like Fridays on week A.  My first day at Sawtry because I made new friends.  Fridays in April because we did programming club.  When the water mains broke and we went home early.  Sport Relief – we had fun for a good cause.  Sports day - there was a great buzz with our friends and our teachers.  The year 11 leavers assembly was emotional.

What was your best ever school trip at Sawtry?  Iceland because it was so different and interesting.  The Globe Theatre.  Barcelona was great fun.  Warwick Castle because it was my first school trip.  Spain because it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.  France trip in year 7 – I met friends that I am still friends with now.  Caythorpe because it was a weekend of friends and fun activities.  Lego Land – it was just a day of fun.  Lego Land – It was great spending the day with all of my friends.  Drayton Manor – brilliant rides and we got free time.  Lego Land - some great rides and time with my friends. It was awesome!

What is your favourite food from the canteen?  The gingerbread man, panini, bacon rolls, bacon and cheese turnovers,, ice lollies, chicken tikka curry pot, sandwiches, an apple because I am healthy.

What is your favourite lesson and why?  Art – because I am creative.  Food and Nutrition because I love to cook.  Tech because I enjoy being creative.  Core studies because it’s fun.  Graphics – I like it.  Maths – my teacher is great.  Child development – it is really useful knowledge to have.  Art – it is highly enjoyable.  IT – it is fun and I am good at it.  Business – Mr Mace makes it very interesting.

When you leave Sawtry, what will you miss?  The social aspect of school.  Friends, art and music.  Doing different types of lessons.  I will miss Because he’s fit!  My PE teacher because she is nice.  Everything because I like school.  The canteen, friends and art because it was fun.

What extra could Sawtry do for you to help you achieve your potential?  I don’t know, you already do too much.  More tests so you know what you struggle with.  Not have some teachers treat us like kids.  Another GCSE option.  Do one to one lessons for those who need it.  A wider array of clubs.  Stop ofsted messing up our school.

What could YOU do to contribute to your own success?  Revise and listen  Answer questions more often in class to show I understand  Put more effort into homework.  Listen more in lessons.  Put in as much effort as I can.  Do some of the after school clubs.  Improve my attendance.  Stop talking in lessons.  Revise.

Tell me something interesting about you that you would like to share.  I danced at The Cresset on stage for 6 years.  I got 5 horse riding rosettes in under 1 year.  I play hockey for Oundle ladies hockey club.  I met the England cricket team.  I can annoy people with my happiness.  I play rugby.  I can play the piano.  I swam with sharks in the South Pacific.
