Presentation transcript:

I am Big On Responsibility I think ABOVE THE LINE I have Ownership, Accountability and Responsibility for my own behaviour choices.

Let’s work together to make responsible behaviour choices. Today we are learning to think above the line!! O- Ownership A- accountability R- Responsibility Let’s work together to make responsible behaviour choices. What are we learning about today?

This important to learn because… Being able to think above the line effects our attitude, mood and our positive approach to life and learning.

This is what life above the line looks like… Which side are you on??? This is what life above the line looks like… I have ownership of my behaviour- I can admit and accept my mistakes and fix them with or without help. O- Ownership A- Accountability R- Responsibility I am accountable for my behaviour choices- I can make a change to learn and grow. I take responsibility for my behaviour- I can work harder and learn from my choices and help others to learn too.

This is what life below the line looks like Which side are you on??? This is what life below the line looks like B- Blame E- Excuses D- Denial I blame others for my behaviour- It is always someone else's fault. I make excuses for my behaviour choices- I make up reasons why things can’t be done or why they happened. I tell myself that there is no problem with my behaviour- I have done nothing wrong.

THINKING BELOW THE LINE People who live below the line tend to have a very negative outlook on life. Living below the line is often known as the easy way out. We make weak choices. We think using the broken rule.

At Biggenden State School we believe that THINKING BELOW THE LINE At Biggenden State School we believe that BED IS BAD This negative thinking can create a toxic environment, affecting our teachers, our classmates, and our performance.

Which side are you on? THINK TIME!! Do you know someone who is always blaming others, denying responsibility and making excuses about situations?

Which side are you on? QUESTION TIME!! Do you recognise some of these traits in people around you or even in yourself? Discuss together!!!

Which side are you on? SHARE TIME!! Think of a time when you have blamed others entirely for a problem. Did that problem get resolved? Talk to your partner

Which side are you on? SHARE TIME! Think of a time where you have taken some ownership for a problem with above the line thinking. Was the outcome different? Share with your partner and class.

We choose to live above the line when we think …. I have made a mistake I can take responsibility for my actions

We choose to live above the line when we think …. I must try to find a solution I will learn for next time.

We choose to live above the line when we think …. I am going to take control and own this. I can improve and keep trying.

We choose to live above the line when we think …. I will make a positive step forward. I can make a change try my best to stick to it.

Let’s work together to make responsible behaviour choices. For those of us who live above the line we have a very empowering job! We can help those who dip below the line by encouraging, helping offering solutions. Let’s work together to make responsible behaviour choices.
