Unit #1: English 10 Plot and Setting
Plot Plot : the sequence of events that make up a story Basic Situation (exposition): The basic situation presents a main character who usually desires something and then insinuates a conflict Complications: The first conflict arises and begins the rising action. External: Man vs. Man, Man vs. Nature Internal: Man vs. Self Climax: The stories most exciting or suspenseful moment, when something happens that decides the outcome of the conflict. Resolution (denouement): The problems are resolved and the story ends. Last piece of new information revealed which usually coincides with the theme.
