What we’ll accomplish We will have a great time learning how to prepare for a career as a healthcare professional. Studying medical terminology can be as difficult as learning a foreign language. Once you learn parts of medical words, you will be able to put these pieces together as you would a puzzle. You must have the desire to learn medical terminology to be successful in this course. I can’t WAIT to get started!! Be Safe. Be Responsible. Be Respectful. …………………………………..

Policies and Procedures - - - - Course syllabus | 2017-2018 - - - - ………………………………………………………………….….. Late and Make Up Work The expectation is that you submit all assignments on time. I accept late assignments for one day after the due date. You must follow proper procedures to turn it in. You will lose 25% of your grade for all late work. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to check the file and follow proper procedures to turn it in. I will not chase you down and request your makeup work. You will have two days to make up any missing assignments, quizzes, or tests. All makeup quizzes and tests will be scheduled before or after school. Technological issues do not excuse you from completing your work. If you have extenuating circumstance, please speak with me and the above standards will be adjusted. Technology We will be utilizing chrome books to access the Internet to review material, take quizzes, complete bell ringers, and submit assignments. You must hold yourselves to high expectations when you use these resources. Your time must be well spent. Unless I specifically say that you may have your cell phones out, you must keep them away at all times or place them in the basket on my desk. If I see your cell phone in class, I will take it for the remainder of the class period and follow school protocol thereafter. ………………………………………………………………………………...... Academic Dishonesty All work that you submit must be your own work. You may not do any of the following: Turn in or copy someone else’s work. Copy someone’s work and change a few of the words. Copying words from a source without citing it and giving credit to the source. Attempt to use any notes on a closed-note assignment. Look at someone else’s work during a quiz, test, or otherwise individual assessment. If you are doing any of the above or anything else that constitutes cheating, you will receive a zero on that assignment, and you will be referred for discipline. After-school Help I am willing to meet with you during lunch or after school to help you. Please let me know in advance, and we can work together to schedule a time that works for both of us. Please note: the expectations is that you are attentive in class and working to understand the concepts. Please do not waste class time only to request to stay after school to make up for lost time. You may also email me for help, and I will respond as soon as possible. ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..
