IMAGERY English 10

Imagery Imagery uses the five senses to aid in descriptive writing. Sight Smell Touch Taste Sound (Movement)

Imagery Rather than using just your sense of sight to describe, try using one of the other four senses (and movement).

Examples When I walked into the room I noticed the familiar scent of formaldehyde tingling my nose. “Ahhh, science class,” I muttered. Alone in the woods, the damp, cold air gripped my skin.

Examples The freezing cold, wet, sour popsicle sent tingles down my spine. He slithered through the room, moving sleek and slow so as to go unnoticed by his parents.

Try writing a few of your own. ___________________________________________.
