Welcome Back!! Grade 4 Room Ms Greene

Rules in Ms. Greene’s Room   Come to class with all materials, books, and positive attitudes ready for when the bell rings   Respect the people in this classroom and school. Follow Directions the 1st time they are given. Give your full attention to all people when speaking ,be that the teacher or another student. Adjust your voice level depending on the activity we are doing

Seating in Class Students will be assigned where to sit (just like today) Seating chart will change on a 1-2 month basis or as needed When working in groups, areas of the room will be assigned.

Coming into Class When you enter the classroom every morning you need to: Put your planner in the mailbox Hand- in any book orders, lunch forms, or notes in the morning box Get your books and materials out for first period (by looking at the schedule) If you had homework put it in the hand-in box

Getting your attention in class I will stand at the front and say 5 – Eyes on the speaker 4 – Quiet 3 – Be Still 2 – Hands Free 1 – Listen By 1 I should be able to tell that you are ready to listen

Procedure for Asking Questions We use our red magnet cards to get help from the teacher To go to the washroom you make a peace sign with your hands To ask questions in class conversations we put our hand up.

Lunch Time: When you are dismissed by the teacher you need to go and wash your hands then get your lunch out. Eat your lunch at your desk Microwaves – wait in line, share it, and clean up if you make a mess You eat YOUR lunch, no trading.

Jobs will change weekly – each person holds each job for 1 week. We do jobs in our class to take care of our room. It is our job as a class to keep the room clean. Floor – make sure the floor is clean Cubbies – deliver any items left in the cubbies to the person who owns them Whiteboard – wipe off the whiteboard Shelf Tidy – Straighten binders, and books on the shelves Recycling – take the recycling down to the recycle bins. (milk and paper) Stack chairs – all chairs need to be stacked at the back of the room

How much homework??? Homework will be needed when students need more practice work at home, a student is falling behind on an assignment, or to gather information from home. If the class works hard then there should be no need to assign homework. If you do not complete your work you need to put it in your ketchup folder finish later or afterschool Any homework that is late or not handed in will need to be finished during recess, or a decided time between the teacher and student

Home Time Routine 1.)Complete your planner 2.) Wait for it to be checked by the teacher 3.) Once checked you can do your job or help someone do their job 4.)If you are done then sit and wait with your backback

Things to notice in our Room Ball and rolling chairs are for anyone to sit on but need to always be used appropriately. Walking lane – space to walk during instruction (quiet, and looking at the speaker) Sit Fits – everyone will get to try a sit fit to see if they like it Fidgets – everyone will get to try but shouldn’t disrupt our peers Pencil Pit – put your dull pencils, and grab a new sharp one Class supplies box – you can borrow markers, scissors, tape… when you need them.
