Media literate means … to learn how to “read” all types of media messages.

Feature Films 1) _Feature Films___- motion pictures that use narrative elements to tell stories. Characteristics: Created for __entertainment____ and to __make_ _money__ Rely on __music___, __cinematography_, __sets____, and __actors_ to tell interesting stories Are at least _1 hour__ in length

News Media 2) ___News Media________ - accounts of current events in newspaper and magazines, as well as in television, the radio, and the Web. Characteristics: Designed to __inform___ and __entertain___ viewers. Present __information__ differently in each medium (TV, Web, print, etc.). Can include __bias___ and __inaccuracies____, so it must be closely examined. Teacher – talk about these 2 terms
