2 TYPES OF SHOT LONG SHOT Provides wide view of a scene, showing many objects and/or people Establishes the setting

3 Medium Shot Shows one or more characters from the waist up.
Shows interaction between two or three people.

4 Close-up Shot Shows a detailed view of a person or object to create emotion

5 Hand-held shot Camera is held and moved by the camera operator to achieve unsteady images Used mainly in drama to convey a feeling of realism

6 Editing How the shots in a show are selected and arranged to help viewers understand the story, show passage of time, and to create a mood.

7 Laugh Track Used in sitcoms
Believed that viewers enjoy comedies more when others are laughing along Sometimes filmed in front of a live audience and will use both real and laugh track.

8 Music Helps to create the identity of the show (theme song)
Also used to tell the viewer how they should feel about the story

9 Sound Effects A sound for different elements is edited into the show to seem more exciting and real. Beeping machines, rocket engines, etc.
