Questions to Explore What techniques does a speaker use if he or she is trying to convince you of something? What stylistic choices do they make? What type of language do they use? What kind of words do they choose?

Goal To understand the ways that speakers and writers use language and other techniques to persuade others. persuasion = important skill for life! Important for trying to convince someone of something, to hire you, to date you, of an important opinion you have…

If you want your parents to buy you the new color iPhone 7c… what might you say to convince them that you should have it?
